Government Jobs for Students

Government Jobs
Student Financial Assistance (SFA), in partnership with the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM), has a web site just for students seeking government employment.

Designed entirely for students, studentjobs.gov provides one-stop shopping for employment opportunities with the federal government for students in high school, college, or graduate school. The site includes 24/7 access to OPM's USAJOBS database of thousands of opportunities, including internships, co-ops, summer employment, volunteer opportunities and permanent part-time or full-time positions. Positions in the following categories are included:
Co-op Education
Internships
Jobs by College Major
Summer Employment
Student Temporary Educational Program
Outstanding Scholars
University Work Study
Volunteer Service

You can also find information on opportunities with other federal agencies. The Agency Information Gateway includes links to employment information for a variety of federal agencies, while the Other Job Opportunities section has links to agencies which are not required to post jobs in the USAJOBS database.

Students can create a resume online and apply electronically for positions in the database. Personal profiles can be created by inputting your preference of job type, salary, and location to create a profile of the type of position you are looking for. You can also create and store up to three different profiles, then receive email notification of employment opportunities matching your criteria.

In addition to job listings, the site provides information on the benefits of federal employment along with articles on various federal agencies. It's an excellent starting point for exploring work opportunities with the United State Government.
